description The objective of this study is to describe the psychometric properties of an instrument designed to evaluate the pedagogical performance of students in the field of educational sciences in the northwestern region of México. The participants were 199 higher education students enrolled in bachelor's programs in educational sciences, all of whom were engaged in professional practice in educational settings. Initially, validity analyses were conducted using item response theory. The analysis based on the Rasch model shows the relevance of the items and the participants' ability to respond to them. The results of the exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis show that the scales maintain a satisfactory factor structure as well as excellent internal consistency (ω = .90 to .97; α = .90 to .97). The factorial model (χ2= 333.30; gl= 217; p= < .001; CFI = 0.97; TLI = 0.97; GFI = .80; CMIN/DF = 1.56; SRMR = .021; y RMSEA = 0.06 [LO = 0.05; HI = 0.08] indicates that the questionnaire is adequate to evaluate the professional competencies of students who are performing their professional practices. It is concluded that the questionnaire can serve as a complementary tool to assess the relationship between the training of educational sciences students and the real competence demands of educational contexts.

Los participantes fueron 199 estudiantes de educación superior inscritos en licenciaturas del área de ciencias de la educación y se encontraban realizando prácticas profesionales en contextos educativos. Inicialmente, se realizaron análisis de validez con base en la teoría de respuesta al ítem. El análisis mediante el modelo de Rasch muestra la pertinencia de los ítems y la capacidad de los participantes para dar respuesta. Los resultados del análisis factorial exploratorio y análisis factorial confirmatorio advierten que las escalas mantienen una estructura factorial satisfactoria; así como una excelente consistencia interna (ω = .90 a .97; α = .90 a .97). El modelo factorial (χ2 = 333.30; gl= 217; p = < .001; CFI = 0.97; TLI = 0.97; GFI = .80; CMIN/DF = 1.56; SRMR = .021; y RMSEA = 0.06 [LO = 0.05; HI = 0.08] permite indicar que el cuestionario es adecuado para evaluar las competencias profesionales de los estudiantes que se encuentran desempeñando sus prácticas profesionales. Se concluye que el cuestionario puede ser una medida complementaria para valorar la relación entre formación de los estudiantes de ciencias de la educación y las demandas competenciales reales de los contextos educativos.O objetivo desta pesquisa é descrever as propriedades psicométricas do instrumento de avaliação do desempenho pedagógico dos estudantes na área de Ciências da Educação, na região noroeste do México. Participaram do estudo 199 estudantes do ensino superior matriculados em cursos de licenciatura na área mencionada, que realizavam práticas profissionais em instituições de ensino. Inicialmente, foram realizadas análises de validade com base na Teoria da Resposta ao Item (TRI).  A análise através do modelo Rasch mostra a adequação dos itens e a capacidade de resposta dos participantes. Os resultados das análises fatoriais exploratória e confirmatória indicam que as escalas mantêm uma estrutura fatorial satisfatória e excelente consistência interna (ω = .90 a .97; α = .90 a .97). O modelo fatorial (χ2= 333,30; gl= 217; p= < .001; CFI = 0,97; TLI = 0,97; GFI = .80; CMIN/DF = 1,56; SRMR = .021; e RMSEA = 0,06 [LO = 0,05; HI = 0,08]) indica que o questionário é adequado para avaliar as competências profissionais dos estudantes na prática profissional.
