description The research aims to determine the urbanization process in Villa Hermosa during the period 2000-2023 and analyze the relationship between informal urban growth and the quality of life of its inhabitants. The methodology proposed is a mixed approach, in which 375 surveys were applied, as well as 20 sheets for systematic collection of observational data and a planimetric survey of the area. The results indicate that, since its origin as an invasion, Villa Hermosa has not undergone a planned urban development affecting the health and integrity of residents, mainly due to the lack of basic services and sanitation. Similarly, 15% of the total area is vacant land and the remaining 50% is housing in precarious conditions affected by seismic events. Therefore, it is crucial to develop strategies that integrate economic growth and environmental sustainability in order to achieve efficient urban planning.

Therefore, it is crucial to develop strategies that integrate economic growth and environmental sustainability in order to achieve efficient urban planning.
