Description
Summary:The research aims to determine the urbanization process in Villa Hermosa during the period 2000-2023 and analyze the relationship between informal urban growth and the quality of life of its inhabitants. The methodology proposed is a mixed approach, in which 375 surveys were applied, as well as 20 sheets for systematic collection of observational data and a planimetric survey of the area. The results indicate that, since its origin as an invasion, Villa Hermosa has not undergone a planned urban development affecting the health and integrity of residents, mainly due to the lack of basic services and sanitation. Similarly, 15% of the total area is vacant land and the remaining 50% is housing in precarious conditions affected by seismic events. Therefore, it is crucial to develop strategies that integrate economic growth and environmental sustainability in order to achieve efficient urban planning.
