| Whakarāpopototanga: | Despite growing biographical interest in Blanca Luz Brum (Uruguay, 1905–Chile, 1985), her literary works have rarely been the subject of critical analysis. The focus of this study is to examine her literary work from the early 1920s to the end of the 1930s in order to address this gap. Considering Brum's constant geographical displacement, the text proposes that her writing can be defined as avant-garde in contact: writing that accepts and rejects features in accordance with the characteristics of the intellectual group to which it belongs at any given time. |
