Summary:The purpose of this article is to evaluate the psychometric properties of Ryff´s Scales of Psychological Well-Being (SPWB) in Argentinean sample. For this, van Dierendonck version of 39 items and Díaz et al. version of 29 items, were used. Participants in this study included 396 students. Based in previous findings, six models were tested using confirmatory factor analysis. None of these models showed adequate goodness of fit to the data. To improve the psychometric properties, a new version is proposed. Several exploratory factor analyses were performed. The results of these analyses showed a 3 factor solution conformed by: (a) Autonomy; (b) Positive relationships and; (c) Competence. This version exhibited better internal consistency coefficients and a good fit to the data.
