The results of the study indicate a strong correlation between bridge length and period of vibration which was independent of the type of beams used in construction. Additional study was made on the few bridges which did not follow this pattern

Additional study was made on the few bridges which did not follow this patternEl comportamiento estructural de los puentes puede verse afectado por el paso del tiempo y el flujo vehicular, por lo que es importante contar con sistemas de monitoreo estructural que alerten sobre posibles daños, y provean indicativos sobre la necesidad de llevar a cabo medidas de mantenimiento y reparación. En este documento se presenta un estudio del comportamiento dinámico de dieciséis (16) puentes de concreto en la República de Panamá. Durante esta investigación, se monitoreó la frecuencia de vibración de los puentes utilizando sensores económicos ensamblados en placas tipo Arduino. Como resultado del monitoreo se encontró una fuerte correlación entre la longitud de los puentes y sus respectivos períodos de vibración; así, independientemente del tipo de viga que forma parte de la estructura del puente, el periodo de vibración puede ser estimado en función de las luces del puente.
