Whakarāpopototanga:Repellents are those who defend us from insects, especially mosquitoes. It is necessary to protect their bites, this is why, this research has as general objective the development of a repellent base don juice extracted from citrus fruits and verify, through direct observation in the field, on their effectiveness to keep away mosquitoes from human skin under different conditions. In laboratory tests they were weighed 252g orange peel and placed in maceration for 5 days in a solution of 325ml of commercial alcohol. Preliminary obtained data indicates that if the development of repellents is feasible based on the juice extracted from the peel of citrus fruits and that it has a repulsive action towards mosquitoes in the conditions studied, however it is necessary to make further researches.
