The research is based on the hypothesis that current legal measures and public policies remain insufficient, thereby perpetuating impunity and systemic violence. Methodologically, the study adopts a qualitative approach grounded in documentary analysis, reviewing the Mexican Constitution, the Law on the Protection of Human Rights Defenders and Journalists, and international treaties such as the American Convention on Human Rights. The conclusions highlight the need to strengthen normative harmonization, eradicate impunity, and improve protection mechanisms. The study underscores the responsibility of the state and the importance of incorporating a gender perspective, as well as enhancing international cooperation to ensure a safe environment free from attacks and intimidation. |

La investigación parte de la hipótesis de que las medidas jurídicas y políticas públicas actuales son insuficientes, lo que perpetúa la impunidad y la violencia sistemática. Metodológicamente, se adopta un enfoque cualitativo basado en el análisis documental, revisando la Constitución mexicana, la Ley de Protección a Defensores y Periodistas, y tratados internacionales como la Convención Americana sobre Derechos Humanos. Las conclusiones destacan la necesidad de fortalecer la armonización normativa, eliminar la impunidad y mejorar los mecanismos de protección. Se subraya la responsabilidad del Estado y la importancia de incorporar una perspectiva de género, así como reforzar la cooperación internacional para garantizar un entorno seguro y libre de agresiones.Este estudo examina a proteção jurídica dos defensores dos direitos humanos no México, considerando os riscos e a violência que enfrentam. Seu objetivo é avaliar a eficácia do marco jurídico nacional e internacional de proteção aos defensores de direitos humanos no México, por meio da análise de casos emblemáticos, dados estatísticos e jurisprudência relevante. A pesquisa parte da hipótese de que as medidas jurídicas e as políticas públicas atuais são insuficientes, o que perpetua a impunidade e a violência sistemática. Metodologicamente, adota-se uma abordagem qualitativa baseada na análise documental, revisando a Constituição mexicana, a Lei de Proteção a Defensores dos Direitos Humanose Jornalistas e tratados internacionais como a Convenção Americana sobre Direitos Humanos. As conclusões destacam a necessidade de fortalecer a harmonização normativa, eliminar a impunidade e melhorar os mecanismos de proteção.
