Summary:The paper contains a revision of 800 cases of diagnostical puncture of the breast. In 737 patients histological study was also performed, but not in the remaining Statistics include 471 benign processes and 266 malign forms. Cytological diagnosis is compared to the histological approach. The method employed is described and findings are analyzed. No false positives appeared. In the case of malign processes, diagnosis was positive in 69,6 % of ali cases. This technique has no adverse consequences for the patient,· provided the tumordiagnosed is adequately treated.
