This study aims to highlight the importance of incorporating a gender perspective in public policy formulation, particularly in relation to women's access to housing, to promote their empowerment. Through a bibliographic review and a comparative analysis of housing program access rates in two Latin American contexts Mexico and Colombia this research examines how such policies impact women's well-being. Finally, it reflects on the importance of ensuring women's access to social and housing programs, not only as a tool to improve their living conditions but also to strengthen their autonomy and contribute to the development of their environment and quality of life. |

El acceso de las mujeres a programas de vivienda en América Latina puede variar según el país y las políticas específicas de vivienda implementadas en cada lugar. Sin embargo, en muchos países de la región latinoamericana, las mujeres han enfrentado desafíos significativos en términos de acceso a la vivienda, debido a factores económicos, sociales y culturales que perpetúan la desigualdad de género. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo destacar la relevancia de incorporar la perspectiva de género en la formulación de políticas públicas para beneficio y el empoderamiento de la mujer, en este caso particular a partir de la promoción de su acceso a la vivienda, A través de una revisión bibliográfica y un análisis comparativo de los índices de acceso a programas de vivienda en dos contextos latinoamericanos —México y Colombia—, se examina cómo dichas políticas impactan el bienestar de las mujeres. Finalmente, se reflexiona sobre la importancia de garantizar el acceso de las mujeres a programas sociales y de vivienda, no solo como una herramienta para mejorar sus condiciones de habitabilidad, sino también para fortalecer su autonomía y contribuir al desarrollo de su entorno y calidad de vida.O acesso das mulheres a programas habitacionais na América Latina pode variar de acordo com o país e com as políticas habitacionais específicas implementadas em cada local. No entanto, em muitos países da região latino-americana, as mulheres têm enfrentado desafios significativos em termos de acesso à habitação, devido a factores económicos, sociais e culturais que perpetuam a desigualdade de género. O presente estudo pretende destacar a relevância de incorporar a perspectiva de género na formulação de políticas públicas em benefício e empoderamento das mulheres, neste caso particular, promovendo o seu acesso à habitação. Através de uma revisão bibliográfica e de uma análise comparativa das taxas de acesso a programas de habitação em dois contextos latino-americanos México e Colômbia examinamos como estas políticas impactam o bem-estar das mulheres.
