La pluralidad de ideas les resultaba inconciliable con la absoluta simplicidad de Dios. Pero otros mostraron que la tesis original del Aquinate consistía en afirmar múltiples ideas en la mente divina. De hecho así lo expresan varios pasajes de sus obras. En esta oportunidad deseamos complementar la polémica contemporánea con el Quodlibet, IV, q. 1 de santo Tomás. Este breve texto, poco conocido y cuya traducción castellana ofrecemos, contiene la última enseñanza del teólogo dominico sobre la pluralidad de ideas divinas, por lo cual debería ser ponderado en cualquier discusión al respecto. Promover la lectura directa de esta fuente medieval es el principal objetivo de nuestro trabajo.Durante o século XX, alguns estudiosos de Tomás de Aquino defenderam a existência de apenas uma ideia divina. Consideravam a pluralidade de ideias irreconciliável com a simplicidade absoluta de Deus. Mas outros mostraram que a tese original de Aquino era a de afirmar a existência de múltiplas ideias na mente divina. De facto, isto é expresso em várias passagens das suas obras. Queremos aqui complementar a polémica contemporânea com o Quodlibet, IV, q. 1, de S. Tomás. Este pequeno texto, pouco conhecido e cuja tradução espanhola oferecemos, contém o último ensinamento do teólogo dominicano sobre a pluralidade das ideias divinas, pelo que deve ser considerado em qualquer discussão sobre o tema.
