Due to the slow fascialscarring, the selection of material is very importan/in this tissue in particular.Se realiza una puesta al día acerca del uso de losmateriales de sutura en el cierre de laslaparotomías, analizando los aspectos básicos dela cicatrización, las diferentes suturas disponiblesen el mercado, los criterios para la selección delmaterial y las técnicas quirúrgicas de elección parasu uso. Dada la lenta cicatrización fascial, sedestaca en este tejido en particular la granimportancia del tipo de material a utilizar.
