description A mentoring methodology for research works applied in the degree unit of the Computer Engineering career of the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, in Guayaquil - Ecuador, during 2019-2020 is presented. This methodology develops a formative process, proposes a set of resources, in addition to proposing a series of principles and results. Students in the process of graduation are guided in the development and presentation of the results of their research in the form of articles to be submitted for evaluation by scientific committees in international academic events of relevance (with indexing) or scientific journals. In fact, each student develops a process of mentoring, five months of work (average), from the initial contact to the preparation of the document to be submitted to the respective journal or exhibition at the congress where the work was accepted. This methodology leads the undergraduate to research, with a technical approach, addressing real problems in areas where computer science and engineering can solve them. Through observation and survey, the perceptions, needs and feedback required by the student according to their level of training were determined. As a result of the application of this methodology, twenty-three students published articles with indexation.

Esta metodología desarrolla un proceso formativo, plantea un conjunto de recursos, además de proponer una serie de principios y resultados. Los estudiantes en proceso de titulación son orientados en el desarrollo y presentación de los resultados de sus investigaciones en formato de artículos para ser sometidos a la evaluación de comités científicos en eventos académicos internacionales de relevancia (con indexación) o de revistas científicas. En efecto, cada estudiante, desarrolla un proceso de tutoría, cinco meses de trabajo (promedio), desde el contacto inicial hasta la preparación del documento a enviar a la revista o exposición respectiva en el congreso donde el trabajo fue aceptado. Esta metodología conduce al universitario a investigar, con enfoque técnico, atendiendo problemas reales en áreas donde las ciencias de la computación e ingeniería pueden resolverlos. Mediante la observación y encuesta se determinaron las percepciones, necesidades y retroalimentación requeridas por el estudiante de acuerdo con su nivel de formación. Como resultado de la aplicación de esta metodología, veintitrés estudiantes publicaron artículos con indexación.Apresenta-se uma metodologia tutorial para o trabalho de pesquisa aplicada na unidade de graduação da carreira de Engenharia de Computação da Universidade Politécnica Salesiana, em Guayaquil - Equador, durante 2019-2020. Essa metodologia desenvolve um processo de treinamento, propõe um conjunto de recursos, além de propor uma série de princípios e resultados. Os alunos em processo de graduação são orientados no desenvolvimento e apresentação dos resultados de suas pesquisas em formato de artigo para serem submetidos à avaliação de comissões científicas em eventos acadêmicos internacionais relevantes (com indexação) ou revistas científicas. Com efeito, cada aluno desenvolve um processo de tutoria, cinco meses de trabalho (média), desde o contacto inicial até à preparação do documento a enviar para a respetiva revista ou exposição no congresso onde o trabalho foi aceite.
