Description
Summary:Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has gained significant attention in neuropsychiatric discussions. Deficits include social communication, repetitive behavior patterns, and a strong association with food selectivity. Due to high prevalence and intervention costs, parent training for managing food selectivity in children with ASD has become a viable alternative. This scoping review followed the PRISMA-ScR protocol and aimed to identify intervention programs based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for parent training addressing food selectivity in children with ASD. Publications from 2018 to 2023 were considered. A total of 361 studies were found, with 12 included. Studies using regression analysis showed reductions in disruptive behaviors, though few reported increased food acceptance. Significant gaps in the literature highlight the need for more robust randomized trials.
