Summary:At the pace of the increasing complexity of the current communicative processes, the field of media studies has, over the last years, achieved a growing consolidation in the academic world. This is expressed in the creation of research centers dedicated to the subject, university chairs, indexed publications, postgraduate study programs. This progressive institutionality indicates the constitution of a research area whose borders are demarcated by a transdisciplinary style that includes varied approaches, which, in a dialogical and also controversial way, approach our contemporaneity under the general assumption of mediatization as an anthropological and technical dimension which determines the functioning of all social spheres. (Complete article in spanish language).
