Se consideran los difíciles problemas de diagnósticoY terapéutica que plantean. Se establecen los dos procesos patológicos dominantes, las obstrucciones y los aneurismas con sus temibles complicaciones; los infartos y las roturas.Se llama la atención a los cjrujanos para que piensen e.n estas afecciones frente a un cuadro agudo de abdomen y se les da orientaciones para un diagnóstico precoz y para la utilización de algunos recursos terapéuticos. Se indican las topografías más frecuentes de los procesos, jerarquizándolas en el siguiente orden: arteria hepática, arteria mesentérica superior y arteria esplénica.
