Este instrumento es reconocido como el primer catálogo internacional contemporáneo de derechos humanos y resulta singular ya que consagra un correlativo elenco de derechos y deberes, a diferencia de los demás documentos decimonónicos, así como los sucesivos.Este artigo visa incentivar a reflexão sobre a importância dos deveres do indivíduo, com base em uma análise da Declaração Americana dos Direitos e Deveres do Homem (ADRDM).
