In such cases intervention consisted in radical mastectomy: 49,9% of cases; modified radical mastectomy: 28,9%; simple mastectomy: 11,4 % and minar procedures: 14,9%. There was no surgery in a 6% of patients. In a 7,4 % of patients, bilateral mammary gland cancer was observed during the period under study (4,06% concomitant; 3,38% successive). 11 was observed that the older the palient, the longer the period of survival free from the disease as well as a reduced rate of mortality. The percentage of local recidivation in modified radical mastectomies (10,5%) was not superior to the percentage in radical mastectomies (12,9%). Analysis of clínical evolution of these patients according to the stage of presentation of !he disease and the surgical procedure selected.

El 79%- de las enfermas consultó en estadios pasibles de sanción quirúrgica (22.69% en estadioI y 56.33% en estadio II).La intervención realizada en esos casos fue una Mastectomiaradical en un 49.9%, Mastectomia radical modificadaen un 28.9%, Mastectomia simple en un 11.4% y procedimientos menores en 1.9%. No se hizo cirugía en el 6% de los pacientes. En un 7.4% de las enfermas se observó un Cáncer Bilateral de Mama durante el período estudiado (4.06% concomitantes, 3.38% sucesivos).Se observó que con el aumento de edad de las pacientes, existió un incremento del periodo de sobrevida libre de enfermedad, así como una disminución de la mortalidad.El porcentaje de recidivas locales de las mastectomías radicales modificadas (10.5%) no fue superior al de las Mastectomias radicales 12.9%).
