Özet:This paper analyzes an intervention-research carried out with an adoption support group in the city of Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. To that end, it articulates the research data to the concept of device-group, in order to understand how the concept makes it possible to contribute as an intervention device for the field of psychology in the support of adoption. Eighteen members of the Adoption Support Group, in different phases of the adoptive project, participated in the study. Data were analyzed through Discourse Analysis from a Foucaultian perspective, comprising the discourses in a singular social-historical location. Through the results it was possible to show how the device-group, in the field of adoption, denaturalizes established meanings about the desired adoption profile, the impasses of adaptation, the prejudices involved in adopting and the group movements. By emphasizing singular movements, the concept allows that other senses about care, protection and family constitution be produced.
