Newscasts continue to play an important role in information consumption, though the use of social media as a news source is on the rise. One noteworthy trend is the simultaneous and integrated nature of different practices, such as using social media to comment on what is being watched on television or streaming platforms. The article concludes by highlighting the importance of ENCC data for research and the development of public policies aimed at improving access and citizen participation.

Se reconstruyen los antecedentes de estudios de consumos culturales en América Latina para describir luego el diseño metodológico y las dimensiones que aborda la encuesta, así como los desafíos de realizar esta medición apenas concluida la pandemia de COVID-19. Se hace foco en los resultados sobre consumo de televisión y plataformas de streaming, uso de redes sociales y lectura de noticias. Los datos de la ENCC muestran que la televisión sigue siendo relevante, aunque el streaming y las redes han expandido sus audiencias. El noticiero sigue teniendo un rol importante en los consumos de información, pero se evidencia un creciente uso de las redes sociales para informarse. Se observa como novedad la simultaneidad e integración de diferentes tipos de prácticas, por ejemplo, el uso de redes sociales para comentar lo que se está viendo en televisión o en plataformas. Se concluye resaltando la importancia de los datos de la ENCC para la investigación y formulación de políticas públicas orientadas a mejorar el acceso y la participación ciudadana.Este artigo apresenta alguns resultados da Pesquisa Nacional de Consumos Culturais (ENCC) realizada em 2022 na Argentina. Reconstrói-se o histórico dos estudos sobre consumos culturais na América Latina para, em seguida, descrever o desenho metodológico e as dimensões abordadas pela pesquisa, bem como os desafios de realizar essa medição logo após o fim da pandemia da COVID-19. Coloca-se ênfase nos resultados sobre o consumo de televisão e plataformas de streaming, uso de redes sociais e leitura de notícias. Os dados da ENCC mostram que a televisão continua sendo relevante, embora o streaming e as mídias sociais tenham expandido seu público. O telejornal segue tendo um papel importante no consumo de informações, mas há evidências de um uso crescente das redes sociais para se informar. Observa-se como novidade a simultaneidade e integração de diferentes tipos de práticas, por exemplo, o uso das redes sociais para comentar o que se está assistindo na televisão ou em plataformas.
