Our experience with modified Sugiura's procedure for the treatment of esophageal varices.

Sugiura's procedure basically includes: ample paraesophageaigastric devascularization, mucous transec•tion of the esophagus, selective vagotomy accompa•nied with pyloroplasty and splenectomy.
