Since the museum institution is the main institution in charge of acquiring, preserving, studying and exhibiting objects of cultural value and, understanding the city as an urban ensemble comprising several buildings, complex road systems and a relevant group of individuals, the museum is conceived as an essential space and a transcendent link in the meeting of both concepts. As an essential and articulating piece between the museum and the urban fabric, the vestibule conditions the relationship of the museum with both the city and society. From its form, implantation, scale and incubation of spaces of transit or permanence, architecture stipulates, conditions, improves or rejects certain exchanges. While these are morphological, spatial, volumetric and temporal decisions, they are also urban, political and social. In this context, it is interesting to emphasize that, in the end, architecture is the means through which the architect gives his opinion and decides, for better or worse, how this relationship will be. |

Siendo la institución museística la principal encargada de adquirir, conservar, estudiar y exponer aquellos objetos que presentan valor cultural y, entendiendo a la ciudad como un conjunto urbano que comprende diversas edificaciones, complejos sistemas viales y un grupo relevante de individuos, se concibe al museo como espacio imprescindible y vínculo trascendente en la reunión de ambos conceptos. Como pieza esencial y articuladora entre el museo y la trama urbana, el vestíbulo condiciona la relación del museo tanto con la ciudad como con la sociedad. A partir de su forma, implantación, escala e incubación de espacios de tránsito o permanencia la arquitectura estipula, condiciona, mejora o rechaza ciertos intercambios. Si bien es evidente que son decisiones morfológicas, espaciales, volumétricas y temporales, también lo son urbanas, políticas y sociales. En ese marco, interesa resaltar que, a fin de cuentas, la arquitectura es el medio a través del cual el arquitecto opina y decide, para bien o para mal, cómo será esa relación.Este artigo indaga sobre a relevância que a arquitetura do museu apresenta como cenário do encontro entre a cultura e a cidade. Sendo o museu o principal encarregado de adquirir, conservar, estudar e exibir objetos com valor cultural e, entendendo a cidade como um conjunto urbano que compreende diversas construções, complexos sistemas viários e um grupo relevante de indivíduos, o museu é concebido como espaço imprescindível e vínculo transcendente na reunião de ambos os conceitos. Como peça essencial e articuladora entre o museu e a trama urbana, o vestíbulo condiciona a relação do museu tanto com a cidade como com a sociedade. A partir de sua forma, implantação, escala e incubação de espaços de trânsito ou permanência, a arquitetura estipula, condiciona, melhora ou rejeita certos intercâmbios. Embora seja evidente que são decisões morfológicas, espaciais, volumétricas e temporais, também são decisões urbanas, políticas e sociais.
