Summary:Private International Law plays a unique role in shaping the contemporary global context. Its primary objective is to provide tools that promote the harmonization of the legal systems involved in the legal relationship under examination, without undermining the cultural identity of the parties and simultaneously protecting individuals in situations of vulnerability. Among the tools employed by the General Theory of Private International Law is international public policy. The aim of this article is to analyze how this tool may be capable of responding to the new paradigms of Private International Law.
