description In this work, the central points of writing teaching at the Faculty of Communication of the University of Montevideo in the twenty years that have passed since its foundation are presented and analyzed. The insistence on mastering the rules and uses of current Spanish, a program of challenging and close readings, personalized correction and self-correction as central instruments are some of the key learnings that result from this teaching experience.The teaching of reading and writing faces multiple challenges in a context of ephemeral relationship with the word and within the primacy of the captivating moving image. Communication faculties play a fundamental role in training professionals capable of “reading well”, mainly to then be able to “write well”.

La insistencia en el dominio de las reglas y los usos del castellano actual, un programa de lecturas desafiantes y cercanas, la corrección personalizada y la auto-corrección como instrumentos centrales son algunas de las claves que resultan de esta experiencia docente. La enseñanza de la lectura y la escritura enfrentan desafíos múltiples en un contexto de relación efímera con la palabra y primacía de la cautivadora imagen en movimiento. Las facultades de Comunicación desempeñan un rol fundamental en formar profesionales capaces de “leer bien”, principalmente para luego poder “escribir bien”.Neste trabalho são apresentados e analisados ​​os pontos centrais do ensino da escrita na Faculdade de Comunicação da Universidade de Montevidéu nos vinte anos que se passaram desde sua fundação. A insistência no domínio das regras e usos do espanhol atual, um programa de leituras desafiadoras e próximas, a correção personalizada e a autocorreção como instrumentos centrais são algumas das chaves que resultam desta experiência docente.O ensino da leitura e da escrita enfrenta múltiplos desafios num contexto de relação efémera com a palavra e de primazia da imagem em movimento cativante.
