Description
Summary:This text outlines three dimensions of the mediatization of politics, focusing on the relationship between entertainment and democracy. Grounded on bibliographical research, illustrated by some cases, the main aspects of this mediatization process may be seen as follows: (a) the approximation of democratic politics with the forms of entertainment; (b) the politicization of entertainment and pop culture, transformed into spaces for discussion of public; and (c) the boundaries of this intersection, both in terms of media and politics, which preserve their particular identities as relatively autonomous social fields.
