| Sumario: | This article attempts to conduct conceptual research about the productivity of Framing as a theoretical-methodological tool to study the debates that take place in the media around the public policy measures that involve them. To do this, it focuses on the productive instance of information and positions itself in the critical paradigm of this comprehensive research program. During the phase of construction of news frames and public policies, the various intervening actors –journalist, media institutions, policy makers and civil society– engage in power disputes that leave their traces in the texts, whether they are media texts or policy documents. Finally, the fact that these are policies aimed at the media whose dynamics are analyzed poses specific challenges, given that these political and economic actors can use their coverage and editorials to promote their frames and shape public controversy over these policies while they must cultivate their legitimacy in dealing with public affairs. Finally, a triangulated methodological approach is proposed to study the instance of frame-building and the texts that are the product of this process. |
