Descripción
Summary:This paper problematizes the resignification of the poor provinces during the political experience of Peronism in Argentina. The aim of this paper is to investigate the identity articulations around the poor provinces in the press of La Rioja during the first Peronism (1944-1955). Based on articles published in newspapers of La Rioja, the discursive analysis of the poor provinces is composed of two registers: first, the resignification of "poor province" to "impoverished province". Secondly, the recovery of federalism as a mechanism to place La Rioja on the map of the country's progress. From a discursive perspective of the social, it is possible to reflect on the contingent political operations that enable, from circulating meanings, new meanings on identity articulations and the possibilities of re-signifying poverty from the presence of state intervention.
