Summary:The purpose of this study was to systematically analyze quantitative research on resilience and its influence on the academic performance of university students, as well as to determine the nature and magnitude of the relationship between both variables. This analysis was carried out through a comprehensive literature review and a subsequent meta-analysis, covering a total of 22 and 7 studies, respectively, published between 2013 and 2023 and extracted from the WOS and Scopus databases. The results obtained revealed a lack of well-defined theoretical models for the concept of resilience, identifying a total of 10 different definitions used in the studies analyzed. In addition, 15 varied instruments for measuring resilience were identified, and five recurrent methodological limitations in the existing research were highlighted. The meta-analysis conducted yielded an effect size of moderate magnitude, calculated at 0.286, indicating a significant and positive relationship between resilience and academic performance in college students. In summary, this study concludes that there is a positive correlation between resilience and academic performance in the university context, despite the lack of a consensus definition of resilience and the methodological limitations identified in the literature reviewed.
